Unlike my cohort, Scuzz, I am not much of a video game guy. I am old school when it comes to video games. Give me a stand-up Galaga machine, a pocket full of quarters and I am in my element. The newest home gaming system I own is a PlayStation One and I lean more towards sports games if/when I fire up my Sega Genesis.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate new games or new home gaming systems. I may not play games like the Final Fantasy series or the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but I will sit and watch friends play them. To me these types of games are endlessly frustrating to play for me but they do have good storylines and are freaking beautifully animated. Take ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’ or ‘Star Wars: The Old Republic’ both have great story lines and are beautiful, I don’t want to play them, but I would watch the crap out of them. Personally I think they both would make fantastic standalone movies.
That brings us to Assassin’s Creed III, due out in October of this year. This time it is set in the United States circa 1775 and centers on a Native American Assassin who is attempting to safeguard his people and land from the burgeoning new Nation. Like the other two in the series, this is just beautiful. The graphics are freaking gorgeous. I would love to see this as a movie. And that dude is a flippin’ bad ass!
