Stumbled upon this one… I guess it is safe to say I usually root for the underdog in most situations. I like it when the beaten down and ‘never shoulds’ triumph over the beaters and ‘always dos’. This looks to check those boxes. A kid struggles to find his place in life while constantly being berated about how he looks. Crazy random happenstance allows him to find a passion and a place in the world.
This movie marks the directorial debut of the very talented Matthew Lillard (‘Thir13en Ghosts’ is still one of my favorite movies). I have always enjoyed his work in film so I am quite interested in seeing how his first film has turned out.
