5 Or More… Dads

Father Elemental

Father Elemental

Father’s Day is upon us again so it is time to look at some of my favorite Dads. Top of the list is of course my Dad. Love you!!

So…

Here is a list, in no particular order, of my favorite Dads.

Heathcliff “Cliff” Huxtable – (Bill Cosby)

The man, the myth, the legend… Combustible Huxtable! Cliff was a brilliant character and probably will go down as the best television dad of all time. For good reason… He was lovable, intelligent, and compassionate… plus he told the best stories 🙂

Richard Castle – (Nathan Fillion)

Richard Castle plays to the fact people believe him to be this high profile playboy who is dashing and suave… granted he is, but at heart he is a sensitive, caring and attentive single father who would do anything for his daughter. Plus he is just cool… (I may or may not have a man crush on Nathan Fillion…)

Jonathan Kent – (John Schneider)

It’s not easy raising the last Son of Krypton. But Jonathan Kent instilled in Kal-El his moral compass and he molded him into the beloved Superman everyone knows. Jonathan was a strong man in his own right, but his strength came from inside and it was that strength that fueled Clark to become more than just the powers our yellow sun gave him.

Tim Taylor – (Tim Allen)

Despite his accident prone nature and more power mentality, Tim Taylor always had the best intentions in mind. He loved his family and would do anything thing for them. That usually included blowing up some part of the house, but when the smoke cleared he always stood by the ones he loved.

Walter Bishop – (John Noble)

John Noble and Joshua Jackson in 'Fringe'

The man found a way to travel to an alternate universe just to save that version of his son in that world from from dying. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what love is.

Burt Hummel – (Mike O’Malley)

As a single father, Burt did all that he could to relate to his son and make Kurt be whoever he needed to be. You have to love your son if you do something like this for him….

Jack Arnold – (Dan Lauria)

Jack Arnold reminds me of my own Dad. So of course he has to make it on the list.

Benjamin Sisko – (Avery Brooks)

The man runs an outpost on the edge of the galaxy, is the Emissary to a race of humanoids, defends the universe from the Dominion and he does all this while raising his son all alone. To say Sisko is a bad mama jamma is an understatement. To say Sisko is a good father is just as big of an understatement.

Honorable mentions go to Dan Connor (John Goodman), Steven Keaton (Michael Gross), Red Foreman (Kurtwood Smith), Howard Cunningham (Tom Bosley), Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Walter White (Bryan Cranston), Don Draper (Jon Hamm), Steve Bartowski – (Scott Bakula), Henry Spencer (Corbin Bernsen), Leo White (Brian Krause) and Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

There it is, for better or worse. That is my list of Dads.
