The Worlds End Poster

I HAVE A TEASER TRAILER!!!

Sorry for the abuse of the caps but I have been waiting for some form of  trailer to come for this movie for months. The World’s End is the swan song in the notorious ‘Three Flavours Cornetto’ trilogy (or Blood and Ice Cream trilogy). For those of you unfamiliar with this trilogy the first two movies are Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Now you see my excitement?

The plot for this movie is 5 friends reunite years later to attempt a pub crawl (or bar crawl for those of us in the US) that they didn’t complete while younger. In the course of trying to finish the pub crawl things happen.

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, and Eddie Marsan in 'The Worlds End'.

So I have no release date other than this year some time. We here at TAMN will update you viewers as we have more info. (UPDATE: TAMN here with an update. Looks like the release date for the movie is August 23rd. So buckle up campers it’s going to be a long summers ride!)

Let’s Time Warp!!

Ratchet & Clank

Ratchet & Clank

Hello Readers. Sorry for the disappearance from writing. I had to put the pen down for a bit to make room for some time off. Now I am back and I will do my best to become a little more regular.

So here is something that fell into my lap just recently. From the creators of a very successful video game comes their first venture into the silver screen: The Ratchet and Clank movie!! Now the Ratchet and Clank series is a long standing series that has done well for itself. At first look/play most people will think it is more like a kid’s game. The reality is it is fun for all ages! Mixing in puzzles and witty banter with an engaging story line these games go the distance. So after playing a few of them you can really start to see that it is possible that Hollywood might actually be able to pull off a video game movie and not have it suck. I most likely will see this in theatres.

Movie Release set for 2015.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

By Scuzz

So I went to see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter last night in the movie theatre. I was mildly excited to see this movie as I think the actual book as an interesting idea that could do well in a movie setting. Also it was produced by Tim Burton so there has to be some dark aspects to it (yes I know he isn’t directing so it may not be there…let a boy have his dreams).

Well the movie overall is ok. While there was a story line there it was fairly predictable and just kind of, trudged along. The battles and fight scenes were fairly short and left me more unsatisfied than anything else. Moving on to the acting, well, it was good. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t horrible.  I do think though that the male lead in this movie looks closely like a young Liam Neeson. It is kind of awesome.

Well over I do not feel completely jilted out of my money as I went on matinée night, it was hot out, and I have no air conditioning in my domicile. To be honest though for our readers, I would probably just rent this one.

FINAL RATING: Wait to Rent

(TAMN here… Scuzzy beat me to the punch on this one. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to get out and see it yet. And apparently I can wait till it comes out to rent. I will do just that!!)

Atmosphere

By Scuzz

I have decided to jump in with my compadre on Music Monday. My contribution will be random albums that I feel are great albums. See I am always on a search for albums that a person can sit down and listen to all the way through and not skip any tracks. To me that makes a great album. I feel that it can vary from person to person but I also feel that there are some albums that come extremely close to being universal for everyone. I now introduce my first one:

Atmosphere “God Loves Ugly”

Atmosphere is an independent rap group based out of Minneapolis, MN. Atmosphere is predominantly comprised of two people Slug doing lyrics and Ant doing the beats. This is not your typical rap that most people are used to hearing. There is a mixture of your typical beats but with those beats there is also some really great samples of blues songs, beautiful piano music and many other instruments that make the music phenomenal. As for the content of the lyrics…? Well Ant pants pictures of growing up in the Midwest, relationship problems, and the struggle of being alive.

The album that is part of my Great Albums choice is “God Loves Ugly”. In this album the rollercoaster ride that the music and lyrics take you on isn’t bumpy but smooth and walks you through a ton of different aspects that I have indicated of Atmosphere above. There are fun songs as well as serious songs. I really do not know what else to say about this album other than I believe it is really a great album.  I highly suggest a listen. No matter what you normally listen to.

(Don’t be a snob…love all music and don’t be afraid to try something new)

Wreck-it Ralph

By Scuzz

As I get older I still find I enjoy children movies more and more. Not sure if this is a children’s movie but it does look amazing. (TAMN here… Can ya tell that the children of the 80’s are in-charge of things?) With a star studded cast of Q-bert, Bowser, Zangeif and many others, this could be an amazing November movie. I now present the trailer for Wreck It Ralph:

Drive

By Scuzz

The trailer for the movie drive had me as giddy as a school girl. I mean look at it: Cool violence/action sequences, interesting dialog exchanges and some damn cool driving sequences. Hell if the story is what they are portraying it to be from the trailer this one will be out of the park. OUT OF THE PARK!

Then I watched the movie….

The Quest For A Chair: It Begins!

By Scuzz

As I have stated in other posts I am a nerd and a geek. I love movies, music and games. I just recently got some money and was able to build a PC that I can now actually play games made in the last few years on as well as start digitizing my music for easier listening and transporting capabilities.

Well I had a friend of mine help me build this amazing PC and was able to snag a pretty damn good monitor from him as well for cheapish. I played with my pc at his house (which is a safe haven of really damn good computer equipment and other things) and really fell in love. So after a drunken night of playing with my precious I decided I better bring her home.  Here is where the quest begins. (more…)
