Shuffle 6: (Not So) Motivational Mix

#MusicMonday

#MusicMonday

It’s Monday and I can’t get motivated to do anything today. Might be the clouds looming in the sky. It might be the lack of caffeine.  No matter what it is I need a boost and I need it fast. I hope a quick shuffle through my music collection is just what the Doctor ordered. If not I will have to find another crazy man in a blue box to take advice from.

Jim Croce – New York’s Not My Home

Ok, here we go… Need a good one to start things off. Damn. Not so much on the upbeat motivational side of things but a fantastic song none the less. This would get stuck in my head last fall when I was in NYC. I like how literal my brain is sometimes.

Jason Mraz – The Remedy

This is a little better. A tad more upbeat and really catchy. I have always enjoyed Jason Mraz. He makes enjoyable music.

Thompson Twins – Hold Me Now

Some 80’s pop is up next. The Thompson Twins had some great tunes and this was one of my favorites. It has a great feeling to it. But still not motivating me to do anything. Maybe the next song will.

Duran Duran – Come Undone

From the 80’s to the 90’s. This song was a staple on radio when it came out. Although it never hit #1 it got a ton of radio play back then. I liked it and still do. I enjoy the ethereal sound and feel the song has.

George Strait – The Cowboy Rides Away

I love ya King George, but this is not what I was looking for today. My shuffle button has it out for me today. I will give it one more song. Things better change up…

Norah Jones – The Nearness of You

OK… Seriously… My shuffle button is conspiring against me. It is giving me great music but none of it makes me want to get motivated to do anything, except sit around and listen to more music! Ah well, maybe that’s what I’m supposed to do today. I can think of worse things. Alright Norah, it’s you and me Darlin’.
