Jupiter Ascending

The latest offering written and directed by the Wachowskis spans the universe. From the face of planet Earth to galaxies far, far away… but not ones long, long ago that I know of. Here is how the official plot description goes:

Jupiter Jones was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.

I am going to stay optimistic about this one. I’m a big space adventure, sci-fi kind of guy so I really want this to be as epic as it looks in the trailer. It has a solid pedigree, so I’ll keep the upturned attitude. Plus it has some serious eye candy for both the men and especially the ladies.

Mila Kunis is a stunning beauty and she has some serious acting chops. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve seen from her she is a huge up and coming box office star. This could propel her into a top draw. Then there is the unrealistic man named Tatum. That dude has a body sculpted out of some sort of expensive stone. The only drawback is that he has some strange pointy ears and odd facial hair… but still, the man pulls it off…. Well. Finally there is the enormously talented Sean Bean. That man can flat out act. Also he has that manly, Nick Offerman vibe. He’s just a stud on all levels.

I won’t be lined up to see this one opening day but I know I will catch this in the theater at the end of July 2014.
